Collin Creek will be a lifestyle district in central Plano combining a vibrant retail development with innovative dining and entertainment concepts as well as a hub for business. As a part of Plano’s ongoing commitment to green space, Collin Creek will include 8.9 acres of parks, a signature water feature and 1.6 miles of walking trails.

+ History of Collin Creek Mall

When it originally opened in 1981, Collin Creek Mall was a pivotal part of the growth in Plano and Collin County. The center was the first major shopping mall in the burgeoning county, and became not only a retail center but also a community partner that brought together families, neighbors and businesses.

The Collin Creek of the future is ideally positioned not only to reclaim that mantle but to cement the importance of the area and the Central Expressway corridor as the community linchpin linking east and west Plano with a central gathering point.

+ When will the mall close?

The last day Collin Creek Mall will be open for any business, mall walking, etc. is July 31st, 2019. On August 1st, all tenants will be closed and walking the center will not be permitted.

+ When will construction begin?

Demolition and construction will begin at the end of August and will continue for the next five years. Collin Creek will reopen in phases.

The first phase of Collin Creek will include a central retail space by opening up and renovating the existing mall property, as well as a four-star hotel with 200 guest rooms and approximately 40,000 sq. ft. of event space. The center will be anchored by a signature water feature, which will serve as a gathering place for families and members of the community. Additionally, a portion of the development's single and multi-family housing will be completed slated for completion towards the end of 2021.

The second phase of the Collin Creek community will include additional upscale single-family and multi-family homes, as well as first-class independent living and additional first-floor retail space. The final park space will also be a part of the second phase.

The third phase will include office towers that will face the Central Expressway corridor.

+ What will the residential development include?

There will be 500 single-family homes, 2,300 multi-family homes and 300 independent/senior living spaces.

+ Where will I be able to park?

The new parking garage will be located underground, creating a pedestrian friendly mixed-use project.
